City of Seattle has passed an ordinance that allows homeowners to build
rental units within their homes or as detached structures also known as
"backyard cottages." These accessory dwelling units may be permitted
under certain circumstances, and we can guide you through the permitting,
design, and construction process to make this easy. We have pre-designed
options to choose from, and these may be customized to take advantage of
the features of your existing home and property. Detached accessory dwelling
units may also be custom designed for your specific needs.
